What makes him tick?
Originally from the UK (the accent is a giveaway there!), I have been in the US since early 2015 I have spend my career, and life, doing one core thing - creating the conditions for people and organizations to become something greater.
Leadership, for me has never been confined to a boardroom. As a Reserves Officer in the British Army, I trained cadets to become more resilient, more self-reliant, and better citizens. As a Lay Minister with the Church of England, I helped a congregation reimagine its relationship with the wider community. These weren't side projects — they were the foundation of a leadership philosophy built on human potential.
Even deeper, I’m the catalyst of change for myself. I’m always in training -
From qualifying as an assault course instructor with the British Army to learning to swim in my 40’s so I could compete in a triathlon.
Learning to climb a rope in my 50’s so I would not look too foolish at the Spartan Race.
And of course, I continue training to keep current all my professional certifications, having recently qualified with PMI to manage AI projects
Being a catalyst for change and never stopping learning has served me well personally and professionally.
Change at the Heart of Me
Transformation is a lens through which I see everything. Whether leading a complex technology portfolio, coaching a team through an agile evolution, or guiding an organization through structural change, my approach is the same: meet people where they are, build trust quickly, and lead them somewhere they couldn't reach alone.
Even deeper, I am the catalyst of change on myself. I seem to be always training - qualifying as an assault course instructor with the British Army, as a sports massage therapist, a personal trainer, learning to swim in my 40s so I could compete in a triathlon, to climb a rope in my 50s so I would not look total fool at the Spartan Race, to theology training in preparation for ministry, and of course the continued training to keep my SAFe, PMP and CSM and CPM-AI certifications.
I bring humor to that journey deliberately, not to lighten the weight of hard work, but because the best outcomes come from teams who trust each other enough to be honest, challenged enough to grow, and engaged enough to stay.
